Monty, as I was doing my devotion this morning on this scripture, "I have set the Lord continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." (NASB) Psalm 16:8, I was also journaling and this particular scripture about Abraham came to mind. You have expounded it so beautifully.

Often when we experience trials, our minds want to wonder and doubt what God can do. If we would only keep our eyes on Jesus, LOOKING unto Him, who is the author and finisher of our faith, we will rest in his attributes knowing God is omnipotent, so powerful, omnipresent, He is present everywhere, omniscient, He knows everything.

We can have the faith of Abraham once we commit ourselves to the Word, prayer and rejoicing in Him.

Do you think that lack of faith or blindness to sin in a specific area or in many areas of life will inhibit this? I think we have so many misconseptions about God and faith and holiness, we are in ways still very blinded and rooted in sin.

That is amazing and not something I can even begin to understand. Our language is inadequate to describe God's actions and existance. Every thing is either past, present or future in our language, and it doesn't apply to God at all!

Jehovah . It does my heart good to think on it, to say it in deep reverence, to address him as my Father in Heaven, maker of a moment's notice, as He calls on us through His Son, Jesus, whose name means 'Jehovah Saves'.

Since we are dead to sin, why do we still sin? It feels like it still has power over us!

Scripture makes it clear that both justification and sanctification are of grace; why then can sanctification be held back by our sin?
